🐶 Pup-Friendly Plastic-Free Options! Compostable Poop Bags & Natural Chew Toys

July 12, 2025

Do you have a dog (or dream of having one)? 🐕
Dogs are super fun, super snuggly—and guess what? They can be super eco-friendly, too!

Today’s Plastic-Free Challenge is all about helping our furry friends while also helping the Earth. Let’s go green with our pups! 💚

🦴 Why Dogs Need Plastic-Free Gear
Lots of dog stuff—like toys and poop bags—are made from plastic. But when we throw them away, they can:

End up in landfills or the ocean 😞

Hurt animals who might chew or swallow them

Take forever to break down!

That’s why it’s paw-some to choose better options for your four-legged buddy. 🐾

💩 Compostable Poop Bags
Yep, we’re talking about dog poop—because it needs to be cleaned up! But instead of plastic bags, try:
🟢 Compostable poop bags made from plants!
🟢 They break down in the soil (not in the ocean!)
🟢 Some even smell like lavender 🌸

TuTu’s Tip: Always bring one (or two) on your walk!

🦷 Natural Chew Toys
Dogs LOVE to chew, but many toys are made from plastic. Try these instead:

Rope toys made from cotton

Rubber toys made from natural tree rubber 🌳

Antlers or safe sticks (from the pet store—not your backyard!)

🐶 These toys are safe for dogs and better for the planet!

🧺 Bonus Pup-Friendly Swaps:
🐕 Reusable dog bowls for trips

🌿 Recycled collars and leashes

🛏️ Dog beds made from old T-shirts or blankets!

🐢 Did You Know?
Plastic chew toys can break into tiny bits that dogs might swallow—and those bits can end up in the water and harm other animals, too. 😢

🐾 Your Pup Can Be a Planet Hero, Too!
With a few simple swaps, your dog can go green right along with you. Let’s keep tails wagging AND the Earth clean! 🎉🌎
