Most toothpaste and lip balm tubes are made of plastic and can’t be recycled. 😞
But when you make your own, you:
Use less plastic
Know what’s in your products
Have fun mixing and creating with your family! 👨👩👧👦
You’ll need:
2 tablespoons baking soda
2 tablespoons coconut oil
A few drops of peppermint or cinnamon oil (ask a grown-up for help!)
A small glass jar with a lid
How to make it:
Mix baking soda and coconut oil until smooth
Add 2–3 drops of flavor oil
Store in your jar and dip your brush in (or use a tiny spoon)
🦷 Bonus: It makes your breath smell minty-fresh!
You’ll need:
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 tablespoon beeswax pellets
A few drops of vanilla or orange oil (optional)
A clean tin or lip balm container
How to make it:
With an adult, melt beeswax and coconut oil in a pot (very carefully!)
Add scent if you like
Pour into your container and let it cool
💋 Your lips will be soft and smooth—and the Earth will thank you!
Instead of plastic tubes, try:
Tiny glass jars
Reused lip balm tins
Metal containers with lids
You can decorate them with stickers or paint for extra fun!
By making your own toothpaste and lip balm, you’re skipping plastic, learning cool new skills, and becoming a homemade hero for the Earth! 💚🌎
